Firefly's

#1 Unread post by ofblong »

Ok i bought some green firefly's thinking maybe it can only help in making me more visible during the day and even more so at night. however I know blue and red ones are illegal (duh makes people think your a cop lol) but do you think I will get pulled over for having green ones? I know it wont make a huge way in making me more visible but its a step lol. I was thinking if I got pulled over for them of just saying sorry I was just thinking they would make me more visible to dumbarse drivers who cant take the time to look before they pull out. Any thoughts?

What are they? Do you have a weblink so I could take a look? I'm all for more visible. As for getting pulled over, just be sure to be polite and respectful with the officer and that will help. Also helps if he's not pulling you over for a different violation like speeding or stunting...

in a way its a strobe light but its motion activated meaning it doesnt turn on until you are in motion and you have to be going a certain speed. I got mine at walmart but cant find it on their website (got figure).

above link doesnt show color but its exactly what it is. When driving down the road it looks constant but its actually flashing. I got green (like I mentioned above) because red and blue are illegal to have on anything since people will think your a cop.

DO NOT USE FIREFLY'S...The rotating weight of them will tear your rubber valve stems!!!!!!

Only use them if you have a steel valve stem..tubes for example.
CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY!!!

I got steel :D. actually the only thing I kinda worry about is them making the tire out of balance.

I don't know where you live but here in Pennsylvania you can't have any tireflies or neons or anything like that turned on while driving. they may only be used while parked. You may want to check your local laws and see if you have anything similar.

I decided that I will deal with it when the issue arrises. I had a state cop ignore the fact I had them yesterday so if they ignore it I cant see why other cops will ignore them. I was getting lots of people looking yesterday so I know they work even during the day even though they arent very bright but do blink :D.
