Cool power products for your motorcycles

I have no affiliation with this site but just wanted to share it with everyone. They have lots of cigarette lighter type cables/connectors and mounts etc. I bought the one that connects to the battery tender wires... also, they are cheap!

http://www.powerletproducts.com/products.php?mid=1

From their site:

"For years BMW has been using the same plug and socket format that the Powerlet product uses. Recently, Ducati & Triumph started using this plug on some of their sport touring bikes. Similiar to the "cigarette lighter" for autos, the Powerlet connector allows you to access the battery without disassembling the bike. This form factor is quickly becoming the industry standard powersport connector.

Today, more than ever, there is a need for a standardized power port on small vehicles. A bi-directional port is necessary to take full advantage of new “appliance” products such as battery chargers, heated vests, cellular phones, portable music players, radar detectors, GPS units, camcorders, heated grip wraps, etc... Installing a port that is capable of the environmental & amperage requirements to power all of these useful appliances is important for your ultimate enjoyment.

All things considered (size, cost, durability, ease-of-use, and major manufacture support) the Powerlet form factor is the best solution for powersport enthusiasts everywhere.

We have developed many model specific kits using the Powerlet socket (BMW type). These highly integrated products allow quick and simple installation of a socket onto your vehicle. They provide convenient one-handed operation for uses like plugging in a heated vest. They look cool & will not scratch the paint like a dangling SAE (Battery Tender) cord. We continue to bring out more model specific kits every month.

Using our Multi-Fit Kits virtually any vehicle can have a easy way to access the battery today. These cost effective solutions provide either a Powerlet (BMW type) or cigarette type socket. These can be used for most any application from battery charging to GPS units.

Our “Cables and Adapters” allow you to plug almost any accessory into your vehicle regardless of what type of outlet you have. For example, you can plug a cell phone into your Battery Tender cord, or plug a battery tender into your BMW socket."

Powerlet products are High quality stuff, and also way more reliable and have much better quality than a normal "cigarette lighter" style power outlet.

I've used this guys wiring kits before, and would STRONGLY recommend his products for a DIY wiring job. Typically, his kits are cheaper than going out and buying the -same quality- stuff and putting it together yourself. He has kits for wiring up power outlets, mating them to a relay, etc etc

I most recently used 2 "military style" powerlet outlets on my own bike - One for powering cellphone/mp3 player, and the other for whatever ...
