xtz 660 tenere wont start after five days

Ok I dont know where to start Parked my bike for five days after it was running fine then could not start it this morning what could possibly happen to
my ride when its just sitting
I have been using an iridium tip sparky for a while with no problems
It cranks over as normal but just wont fire up

check to see if you have spark, Remove the plug wire and hold it near the frame or cylinder head ( any good ground) see if it sparks, If it does then it is probably a fuel problem

yeh there is a spark from the lead and I can smell fuel after a few seconds of cranking, It was raining before I parked it and thismorning I took of out the drain bung on the air box and a bit of water came out . could the air filter have something to do with it????????

it could have water in the carbs and air filter. Drain your carb bowls and allow them to refill with fresh gas, remove your airfilter and airbox if you can and then try to start it like that

Up and running again Turned out to be the iridium tip spark plug, although I think they are a super plug when running soon as they get a little bit fouled its all over, couldnt beleive it when I gave it a bit of a clean and she fired up,
what makes me even more pi88ed off is that my missus with no mechanical apptitude said "I bet its something like the sparkplug" am never going to hear the end of it now
anyway thanks for the tips, my ride got a bit of a service out of it.

happy to hear you figured it out. What was the bike doing sitting for 5 days anyhow?

Yeh the bike had to sit because I was bringing home the work truck which is not to bad cause its the middle of winter here but id rather be cold on a bike
