So, if it's hot......

So we have established " it's hot ! " The question is, do any of you prepare your bike for hot weather riding, like going to a higher viscosity oil or different coolant on those bikes which are liquid cooled ? I see some of you are riding in temps above 95 F, do you take any special precautions for your bike ?

When it's cooler I fill the tank up to the middle filler neck (max possible) but when it's hot I stop filling once it reaches the bottom of the neck so that fuel doesn't expand enough to flow onto my tank and ruin the paint (previous fade marks tell me this). Plus I tried the idea of a cup holder for my slurpee.

Other than that just make sure the coolant level is where it's supposed to be on a water cooled bike, clean and wax it so the paint will stay nice and bright.

I ride an air cooled bike and it's hotter than 95F for about 6 months out of the year, here in the desert. I always use the heavier weight oils in my bike for added protection in the heat. A 20w-50 weight is ideal, but I'll occasionally go with 10w-40 if I can't get 20w-50.

Other than that, I don't do anything special.

I don't do much different on the bike, but I have to pull my leathers off and some times I use a smaller helmet. We have had 100+ degree temps for a few weeks now.
