Living in the IE, Cherry Valley, lots of great roads out here. Hwy 243-79 Palms to Pines is out the front door and to the left. 38-18-330 Rim of the World / Big Bear is out back and up the hill towards Oak Glen. Its a great place to live if you love to ride.
How bout you?

im in the Valley.
im only 15 miles away from Angeles Crest Highway, arguably the best bike road in SoCal.
but i don't always go there... i like to go Sand Canyon, it's much closer. it's more technical but traffic is very light. everytime i go there, i mostly have the road all to myself.
im not that far either to Malibu. many good bike roads there too.

VermilionX,
Is ACH still closed to Wrightwood? Haven't been that way in a couple years.
Last I heard it was washed out.

not really sure... it's very long mountain highway. so it covers a lot of distance.
i take it from the west entrance on La Cañada. then i stop at this hangout place called Newcomb's ranch and then make a run back down.
we should meet and ride there sometime.
