Ok, i put in the 90/130 watt lamp i my headlight. Works a charm so far ( been three weeks). I have checked the connections and wiring and no signs of stress. So, what i have not done is use the highbeam for more the two minutes and i like to ride with my highbeam during the day.

So, anybody else using this bulb and if so, do you use the highbeam without problems?

Cheers

thats one bright "O Ring" headlight. I have a 55/65 watt bulb on my bandit and it lights up the night better than a lot of cars.

Yeah, the protesters are all over the place. You just cant seem to avoid them. We also do home comings and send offs which are just a nice ceremonial type thing and are the joyous part of the mission.

LA is full of riders, you can check thing out in the California Forum at http://patriotguard.org/Home/tabid/53/Default.aspx

You may have to be a member to read the forums, not sure. Great cause though and check out the pic gallery.

And yah that is a kick O-Ring light I have and it works great. I drive the I5 from Carlsbad to Irvine every day and I leave at 4:45 am so I need to be seen. During the day, if I use the high beam, it is killer, but I need to know if my system will handle high beam or not, hence this post.

Ahh, you cant cheat Mr Ohms. What if you upgrade the wiring?

You could try it. A couple guage sizes higher (lower numerically) and check battery voltage at idle and at 1500 rpm or so with the high beam on. This will tell you if your charging system is still able to charge the battery.

I check amp draw on my cars with a DC clamp on inductive amp meter. You need to know what your alt. it rated for and check its output with all accesories on at full operating temp. This is the best way to see if you system is operating properly, or on the verge of catching fire. :|

I truly wish that was an option, but the bike is my main commuter and with a family, i dont think i would be able to finish the project in any given amount of time. I suppose if i had a weekend to myself and the motivation i would do so ( I could take the car but who can afford gas these days)

Great idea though. I am certain my alternator would handle it becuase folk add light bars with 2 55w bulbs to their shadows with out any overloading the system. One chap told me he had his light bar spliced into his existing light circuit and it had been going well for two years. Still not sure.

Cheers :D
