Hard Shifting, Honda XL125

My 1974 Honda XL125 has become hard to shift from first to second, in particular, and not quite as hard from there on up. I adjusted the clutch cable per the manual, but didn't help. Any ideas?

the 1-2 gear syncro is probably work out. It is usualy the first to go as it is abused more
