Hey all!
I'm getting an 01 Yamaha V Star 1100 custom, and I'd like to see what others have done to their bikes. Got pics? Fling em' this way please!
I'm so excited!

I've been told that the first thing that needs to be done if it's not already, is an oil filter relocator. That's first on the list.... did you do this as well?

Moderators, I'm so sorry......
I accidentally put this in the wrong area...
Could you please move it?

Baron's Big Air kit with the individual K&N filters on each carb, exhaust of your choice, and appropriate jet kit. My co-worker has a '99 with slip-ons and a Hyper Charger that runs and sounds pretty mean. Also, a solo saddle and thicker handlebars give the Custom a tough, bull-dog look.

I've got the 05 Midnight custom version.

You're right; first thing, put on the oil filter relocation kit -- average cost is around 200.

Most people's second mod is the seat. The stock one is just crap. I put a Corbin on mine and could ride all day. And. . . it looks bloody cool. Once you take off the stock and feel how light it is compared to one of custom quality, you'll realize just what crap you had your arse sitting on.

Next? Whatever your imagination has in mind, dude. THese bikes are incredibly easy to modify. That's their beauty. Some popular ones?

Probably third on people's list is the pipes. The stock ones sound like a sewing machine, and many people want something throaty. Tones of people have found some great performance gains by using the Cobra 2 into ones. I don't have those. Of course, you'll have to adjust the jetting and intake. . .

Next thing? Most people rejig the air intake while doing the pipes. Obviously, if you slap on new pipes, you have to rejet. But while you're at it, why not tweak the intake? For most, it's a choice between hypercharger and a pod kit under the tank. Keep in mind the 1100 comes stock with 50-52 HP. Most report 62-64hp with the 2 into 1 exhaust and a pod kit; rejetted appropriatly, of course.

IN addition to the above, most report making 70-72hp wiht a dyna ignition kit and mid cams.

For me?

I've got the Strippers,
Corbin seat,
Hypercharger,
ISO grips and stilleto caps
Throttle boss
Oil filter relocation kit,
Custom mirrors.

On my hit list:

Ceramic coat the pipes black.
New Radius bars.
Paint chrome side panels black
New rims, powder coated black.
dump old lollypop signals for new, mini bullet style.
Custom paint.

Enjoy the bike.

:P No, I'm not although almost all of my friends in high school were "dudes"... and my husband is one.
I'm confident in my feminism so I'm not worried. No offense taken here.

I'm all for equal opportunity. I call all my female friends & aquaintances bud, pal, dude, etc.

Don't know if they like it; but I'm comfy with it.

Not many here with that bike. You might wanna register at CruiserCustomizing and search the pics of all the members there with 1100's.
