My first bit of motorcycler camaraderie

So I got all giddy and excited when I first did the wave back at a fellow motorcycler, but today was awesome.

I was riding down a backroad where the limit is 60 km/h (about 37 mph) cruising along at a comfortable 60 myself, when a fellow biker was coming from the opposite direction, also riding leisurely (one hand off on his lap). He then made a slow-down motion with his left hand and I waved back, and I rode on, same speed.

And wouldn't ya know it, there was a fine member of the NRPS with a fancy laser gun pointing my direction. I was grinning beneath my helmet as I passed the cop who kinda looked dejected, maybe because he lowered his laser gun as I was approaching thinking I'm not worth it, but whatever. I was going within the speed limit anyway.

To the fellow biker who tipped me off: thanks! :motorcycle:

yeah, it's great to have a heads up.

you should get familiar w/ the different signals.

noice.

cops around here make parties out of it when they break out the laser guns. if a cops alone he just sits in his car using radar. its always like 2 or three of em standing in a median talking while one looks for speeders with the laser.

Hey, we all got to stick together out there. Whether it is a friendly wave or an "authority warning".

I had the same thing happen today. Was riding along on a road and a biker went by and gave a thumbs-down. I figured he just thought I'd was an ugly bug, but a mile later I found the road was closed off

Wouldnt it make more sense for it to be a finger above the head making a swirling motion (mimicking the old rotating lights the cop used to have)...I remember some guy in my neighborhood, must have hated the cops in the area, he would sit out on a corner in a lawn chair when the cops were staking the street waving that signal to everyone
