VF500 Honda Interceptor 1985 (Does not start)

Hello to all!!
My bike started missing on high speed (high rpm), and the next day it stalled, and would only start on compression...
My fire is good (I get a spark on every plug)
Fuel pump is good
Fuel line as been checked from the tank valve to the pump (it clear)
Battery is good
Gas is good
The inside of my tank is rusty
any suggestions?
Further on...I was able to get the engine started on spraying some Quick Start directly inside the intake. I cleaned my fuel valve filter, and cleared all the fuel line (again). Nothing. Could this be my fuel pump?

Sounds like a fuel issue. And if your flowing fuel out of the tank, the next thing is to test the fuel pump.

Yup I figured that would be a good thing to do. I blew some air from the fuel filter to the gas tank. The air reaches the fuel tank and pressurises it good (no leaks). Plus the fuel pump impeller rotates freely. Tonite I'm testing the fuel pump relay (it should read 12V).
How do I test the fuel pump? I plug it direct on the battery? (that can't be good - SPARK BOOM).

With the VF's you can actually route around the fuel pump. They don't actually need them unless they are low on fuel, or are doing a lot of twisties.
It might be your carbs gummed up. My VF700F died on me, wouldn't start at all. Cleaned the carbs and it runs good as new.

Hey DivideOverflow!! Please explain. I can go without my fuel pump? Final testing revealed that my pump runs (I removed the relay and jumpped the power and ground wire...and it spins fine). Further on I verified my relay, and I think it's busted.
I think it's the Relay on my VF500

I checked the relay and I think it's busted.
I don't get an infinite resistance on it, and when I turn on the key, I don't read 12V comming from it (about 0.02V).
(grrr I just wanna sell it ...)
How do I eliminate the fuel pump???

I just found out that the 1986 VF500 does not have a fuel pump (it was eliminated). On the ealy 1985 model, the pump is a very low pressure one, that is only there to regulate the flow. Basically, I don't think it's required. How do I remove it? What happens to the vaccums? Fuel tank vent?
