I can't keep my "put put" running. 89 honda vtr 25
My vtr 250 starts and runs fine but dies when it warms up. It wont restart because now the battery is dead. After charging the battery overnight it shows 13.13 volts and passes a load test. I installed the battery, started the bike and rechecked the volts. Battery volts went up to 13.25. Give it a little throttle and it raises slightly to 13.33. I touched the stator wires and their hot and soft. I touched the box it plug into and its red hot, like its on fire. I think it maybe the CID box but I'm not sure. It runs for 10 or 15 min. and the it starts to run rough and then dies. If you restart it and tach. it up (6 grand) it will run a little longer but still dies after a while. What do you think?
