Obnoxious use of loud pipes

At the gym this morning I was getting my gear on to ride away when a guy on a large and loud cruiser rolls into the parking lot. Despite the plentiful parking designated for motorcycles at the very front, he proceeds to ride up and down the rows of cars finding cars with alarms and revving his engine to set the alarm off. After about 2 minutes there must have been 6 or 7 car alarms going off, and he was only getting started.
I may not be a fan of loud pipes, but I have no problem with people who do. However, this was absolutely ridiculous. He may have found it entertaining, but I'm sure the guy who came out to his car to find a dead battery doesn't...
Anyway, just thought I'd share. Have a good day!

Hahaha, what a tool. I get a kick out of doing that when I ride by the random car but I don't go and try to find vehicles to do it to.

even my stock pipes can set off alarms depending on the situation. i don't mind loud pipes at all, but hate some of the fools who have them.

Ditto.
I've set off plenty of car alarms with my stock pipes. I can't wait to see what happens when I can afford to redo the exhaust on my new ride.
Obviously, I don't mind loud pipes either. But I can think of about a billion better ways to entertain myself than by driving around a parking lot trying to set off car alarms.

I have yet to set off a car alarm with my bike.
My old VW that had a fairly built motor with a dynomax turbo muffler would set off car alarms and it wasn't even that loud, just had a really deep pulse to the exhaust sound like a v-twin.
with setting off car alarms its not the volume but the frequency, a strong low frequency pulse will set em off.

The only negitive comments I've about my getting a bike has been is "Its not one of those real loud ones that shakes your teeth".
It't these pipes and rude drivers that give our sport a bad rap.
