It finally happened to me as it does to many geezers my age, my last remaining riding bud that I grew up and grew old with, hung it up. I saw him Saturday at a bike show and he said his insurance is up and he is going to let it lapse. Not me tho, I plan on riding until 3 days after I'm dead. I reckon from now on I'll be the "Lone Rider".

I don't think he was saying that the insurance rate was too high, just that the guy was done riding and therefore wasn't renewing his insurance...

Yeh, his insurance is due for payment...not increased. Insurance isn't too bad for old geezers, we get off easy.

It's always tough when you find that you and your tried-and-true friends are heading in different directions. Hopefully you still have other things in common that you enjoy sharing. As for the riding... sounds like you need to search out some younger, more willing riding buddies. Come out this way sometime (Columbus/Dayton/Cincinnati area) - we'll go riding with you!!

63 in a couple of months

not old...expirienced.....

The GWRRA chapter that I went riding with, and plan on joining, Id be the youngest member at 27, I think the next person above me is in their late 30's. I just find them alot more fun to ride with then the riders my age here (who, incidently dont seem to like buying cruisers.. )

You are only 27 ? I have socks in my dresser drawer older than that !
