125 cc sport bikes
I was reading this thread http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewtopi ... a70952fe64 and i got really interested in these 125 cc sportbikes. I am thinking of getting one for my first bike, even tho i know some of u guys say i shouldnt. I want a bit of information on them first however. Since they are two strokes, they will require a lot of maintenance right? how much maintenance will be required and how much do u think it would cost per year for this maintenance. Also is it easy to find used 125 cc bikes around? Whats the fastest speeds for these bikes, and would they have a lot of trouble going double up. Which would be a good make to choose that would be easy to maintain and would be easy to get parts for etc. I am really interested in these bikes so any information would be of great help

yeah... but i rode w/ a guy that has an aprilia 250... he had to go through some loops to have it registered. they're kinda like black market here.stephen85858585 wrote:is the only way to get these bikes in canada is to import them yourself???
if you can find a used one that is already registered then that's cool.
i don't think it's gonna be worth all the money to import them (tarrifs, shipping and all other feesl) then you'll have to figure out a way to register them and im sure that'll cost a lot of money too.
such a big hassle, so like i said... if you can find an older model that is already registered then go for that. otherwise, forget about them.
it just sucks that we don't get them here.

i assume it's bec of lack of market. i think they cost too much for a 125cc bike.stephen85858585 wrote:this may sounds tupid but why dont we get them here?? They are amazing bikes and awesome for beginners who want a little more performance
also, here in CA, not sure about other states, 2 strokes are not street legal.

yeah, the CBR125 is a 4 stroke... it's also the weakest among those 125cc bikes.stephen85858585 wrote:well the honda cbr 125 r is now 4 stroke, they havent been amknig the two stroke since 2003
also, the handle bars on the CBR125 isn't as low as the other RR bikes but it's certainly not as high as the ninja 250.
plus, the design is way more appealing than the ninja 250. it's a shame though, i bet the CBR125R could easily give the ninja 250 a run for its money around here.

I guess the best and only thing to do is to keep an eye for a good used one then. I`ve already checked ebay and the local autotrader but have had no luck. Damn i hope i come across one
