removing the muffler on 2005 suzuki gz250
After seeing another 2005 suzuki gz250 owner do the same thing in a post, I cut off my muffler and installed a chrome exhaust tip from JC Whitney. This increased my power and made it sound like a "real" bike. My question is, is this legal? It's loud, but not as loud as a Harley 1200.

You probably should have asked that BEFORE you did the mod...
In most states it is illegal to interfere with that stuff. In MD you only have to have an inspection at purchase/sale to register the vehicle and get a tag, so folks do it and just keep the removed parts to put back on at sale. (I took off my charcoal cannister).
I guess you'll find out if you get pulled over.
