'83 Tempter restore issue #3 - Can't slip into N while still

#1 Unread post by headshot »

May not seem like a big deal , but it's a little annoying waiting for all the Chicago red-lites. SO I just have to remember to slide into Neutral while I'm idling down from 1 or 2. While I'm moving it's no biggie, smooth as silk.

Can this mean possible bigger problems in my Tranny?

I'd be inclined to check your clutch adjustment to make sure it is spot on. A well adjusted clutch will do wonders for shifting woes.

Just wondering why you'd want to be in neutral at a stop light. Best practice is to be in gear and be ready to move if something is bearing down on you from behind.
