ok i was getting the oil changed on my bike, and while im waiting i see a nice GSX600 in the back of a pickup truck and a guy waiting around for help.

i come back outside and they got the bike unloaded, the whole left side was crushed all the plastics broken, the mirror gone, the handle bar bent, the seat torn. basically the whole left side gone. his story was they got the bike loaded in the truck at the dealer, and was trying to unload it at home by themselfs. and the bed of the truck was wet so the bike slipped and fell out of the truck... sucks to be them.

stupid though buying a brand new bike that you cant ride home. then try to unload it out of a pickup rather than have the dealer trailer it home for you. obviously the dealer will offer no help to them and only suggested that they call their insurance.

If he was bringing home on the back of a pickup, chances are he didn't have insurance yet. Does homeowner's insurance cover this kind of thing?

i think home owners Might cover it not sure. possible the mothers insurance on the truck? she was a co-signer on it which made things worse for the poor kid haha.

obviously very inexperienced.anybody knows to unload a bike from a pickup you place your wife or girlfriend beside the bike on the way down so if you lose control you can shove it towards your loved one and let their body absorb the impact.

Thats horrible, for the guy. You would think that the dealer would have trailered it in the first place for the guy.

When I pickuped my bike we had 3 people moving it. One on each side, and one on the back.

The truck insurance should cover it. It would here in Alberta, that I know for a fact. If it burns up when the garage burns down, the home insurance will cover it. Again, that's here... your actual milage may vary.....
