hey guys... i have a leaky gas tank

on the bottom of my motorcycle due to rust. I tried to get a new one but they have discontinued making the tank. I've tried J-B weld epoxy and does not last over a month before it begins to leak again. I was thinking about cleaning it throughly and use a tick welder, then epoxy it agian.
if any one has a spare tank or advice it would greatly be appreciated

One solution is to use the JB weld, then do a POR treatment.
A better solution is to have a welder tack it up and then do a POR treatment
A better solution is to have a radiator shop fix it and coat it
The best solution I've found is having it RENU-ed
They get increasingly expensive though and THERE ARE NO RADIATOR SHOPS NEAR ME THAT WILL TOUCH A MOTORCYCLE TANK!!!
thanks

hey thanks... I did use JB weld a few months ago. it was working fun. I put some Gumout into my tank. I think that is what caused the leak. Does anyone know how to remove JB weld? I want to weld, then apply JB weld and then POR-15 it like no tomarrow lol.. but first I'm going to try to find a place to RENU my tank.

I was looking for a replacement tank for an XS400 since mine looks like dodo, but ive been unable to find anything so far. Except for some rusty, dented tanks occasionally on Ebay.
But I did find this webiste.
http://www.gas-tank.com/ They restore gas tanks. Im thinking of sending mine out to them if I dont find a decent replacement tank.

I would only choose renu if you had no other option and your bike is rare. A tank is surely going to come on ebay that you can get painted to match your bike for less than the renu process.
Just my 2 cents
