i remember one of the racers at WSIR told me to get one of those things you can insert in the shocks to raise the rear. he said it's not even $50 so im interested.
anybody know what it's called? i forgot.
anyway... what are the cons of it? if it does have any.

I would think it'd shift more force to the front of the bike.
Now that could be a good thing, though, in keeping your front end down. But it might also increase tire wear or..something.
*waits for someone more knowledgeable to come along*

looks like its just a spacer, or a suspension block. Not sure of its 'official' name but that seems to be what it appears to be.

Raising the rear will put more weight in the front giving you better turn in, but this lightens the rear so you the bike will be more likely to kick out the rear end.

hmmm... very good pros but very bad cons also.
i guess i still to my stock until i can get a full suspension and shock upgrade like this one...
http://www.gpsuspension.com/services/quotes/gsxr750.php
if you don't know yet... i already went to a suspension shop to try to set my static sag... they adjusted my suspension but they said i might not feel the difference bec they can't do do much for my body weight w/ the stock suspsension and shocks. they were cool... they didn't even charge me for it even though they did spend some time adjusting it for me since they said they can't fully adjust it to my wieght.
so that's why, right now... im riding a bike that is not fully customized for my weight.
i heard so many people say that having your suspension set up specifically for you is like a difference between night and day.

Jack up the spring preload, that'll raise it up a bit.

Thats terrible, how will you cope.
I'm going to say this one more time - you aren't using that bike hard enough for it to matter.
Look I was pillion on the back of Si's 'Blade right? My additional weight altered the balance of the 'Blade so much that Si's brother riding in front of us when we were cruising complained about the headlight.
However once we got clear of the City and on to the ringroad Si spanked that 'Blade - 130+ two up, because at the end of the day no matter how good he sets the 'Blade up Si can ride without gadgets.
He is a complete hooligan, but he is also a good rider - whatever he is riding.

not accdg to the guys that had they're suspension setup for their weight. even for everyday daily riding... a properly setup suspension will go a long way.
my bike feels very bumpy on elevation changes... the shocks are too stiff but they can't do much more than what they already did.

I am looking forward to this...
