Why Hello Thar!
Let me first start by describing my motorcycling history:
First bike I ever rode was a Honda ct90... wish we still had that. At the time, we also had a pair of ct70's (A 1971 and a 1972) one with a clutch, one without, that I had the pleasure of riding, also wish we still had those. My first real motorcycle was a 1971 Honda Cb100 that looked FABULOUS, but had a wealth of engine problems we were never able to figure out. After that, I rode a 1974 Cl360 (simply a pleasure in every way), as well as a 1971 cl175 that my brother rode. Seeing a pattern in this list?
After that I got the first bike that I actually owned, a 1993 honda nighthawk. it's reliable as can be, and its a great bike for what it is. That said, after a year and 2500 miles, I'd like something with more power.
We have had, and have several other bikes i didn't mention because i've never ridden them- a couple of old school Norton Commandos (no way in hell would my father let me touch those... I don't know if I could deal with the shift lever and the rear brake being switched), a pair of cb550s.
All these old school bikes... Anyone want to guess how old I am? Here's a hint: The only bike I've ever diden that was younger than me was the nighthawk.
I was born in 1988, and am currently 17. You see, I've had the unique pleasure of a father that not only accepts my riding, but collects and restores old bikes as a hobby.
I've lurked these forums for a while, and thought it was time I contributed(even if I won't be riding a bike for a while - will be making a thread in the general forum about that). I recently bought a full face Shoei Rf1000 helmet, which was an upgrade over my 3/4. I very happy with it, but I'm going to have to shelf it for a while... see aforemention thread.
