Surprise surprise, I know.

I was walking through campus and heard a motorcycle behind me. I turned to look and see what it was. A cruiser, the rider had full gear, and I nodded as he passed by me (he was riding parallel to the sidewalk I was walking on).

As soon as I turned my head back around so I wouldn't run into anyone, this car comes veering out of the parking garage that I was about to pass by. There was maybe 2 feet of room between that car and the motorcycle.


Obviously the motorcyclist had anticipated the car turning out before hand because he made the swerve. I was impressed with how fast he reacted. I doubt I could've done the same.


It's a good thing no one was coming on the other way (which was surprising in and of itself).


But I'm glad I didn't have to help pick up a bike today.

Ugh, i hate it when cagers do this. I had one pull out in front of me when it was merging onto a rotary, and i was getting off.... I start the "panic" braking, he locks his up cause he sees a bike heading for him. BUT if he had just kept going, it woulda been fine. First emergancy swerving i've had to do. Not even enough time for the horn or a finger.

I dont feel safe on the road at college campuses in a car, let alone on a bike. Kids cant drive worth spit.

Yeah college campuses breed horrible drivers it seems. On my short trip to work yesterday I had 2 cagers totally miss seeing me, causing me to hit my brakes pretty hard to avoid hitting them. Here in CS I TOTALLY avoid Texas Ave. if I can help it. Its a deathwish on a bike.

on a related note, I was crossing the tracks today and due to construction its a 1 way. Well that certainly didnt stop the mustang jamming his way up the WRONG way through the track crossing, forcing me to the side and almost dropping my new bike(I somehow held it up)

You just gotta be careful around here.

And by the way its hot outside heh

Some schmuck merging on the freeway decided he wasn't going to notice me and crossed over a lane of traffic and then came right into my lane. Thank goodness for having peripheal vision because if it wouldn't have been for that, I would have been sideswiped. Yes, I was actually in front of his car which makes it even worse. Instead, I countersteered for maximum swerving and got the heck out of there. Luckily for me I keep a running figure in my head of my escape options.

hot outside??? its like 40F out right now.

My very first ride around my neighborhood last spring I had a soccer-mom in a minivan pull out from a stop sign(well she didn't really stop) and I had to swerve around her, and she gave me this happy "I'm sorry" look. But I can't blame her, she was on a cell phone. maybe it was a really important call.

Anyway, glad I took the msf, and got all the emergency swerve skills down, cause I would have either ended up on/under her van, or in the front lawn of the nearest house if I wasn't prepared.

I second that its hot but its supposed to be cooling down to like the mid 90's f soon so i don't know what i'm gonna do(pulls out his winter jacket) for down here i mean LOL. Waco sux LOL

lol here I am with a winter jacket doing 65mph in 45F making it seem like 17F and I am sweating my arse off and you guys get to ride during the day (I am riding at night) in your 90+ weather in your light gear. NO fair but then again I cant make down there what I make up here per hour lol.
