Well, it's about time I wrote about my favorite hobby, restoring and riding motorcycles. :D
I am a stray english guy, who has turned up in Michigan during 2000. My wife and I live in a little burg about 50 miles north east of Detroit. Around where I live is some great motorcycle country, and yes I have been to Hell and back. :D
I own 13 motorcycles, and the objective is to have at least 4 of them tagged for riding from May to October.
On the road this year is a Ducati ST2 1998, Honda Aspen 1983, Honda Nighthawk 1983 and Suzuki GS850G 1980. The last two were roadside trash that I could not resist restoring (don't know why, probably because I can).
Lookout for this winters restoration, a 1963 Norton that I want to turn into something special. This is really what I want to blog about!

Ah, a snortin' Norton from the days before the UK blended their bikes together. I'd love to see some before and after photos...you can start with the "befores" now! Thanks for being one of the good guys who saves bikes from the scrap heap.

Well, this is what the Norton looked like when I rescued it.
I intend to keep a blog of the restoration, just need the nod from the administrator.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Good luck! Have you ever read any of Peter Egan's work? He's got a soft spot for rescuing and restoring bikes and is partial to Lime Juicers. He got his start with Cycle World after writing a story about an aborted attempt to ride from Wisconsin to Washington State on a Commando. I confess to an affection for them too, having once raced a BSA and also owned (for a short time...a short FRUSTRATING time) a 650 Bonneville.
