Brake light pulsator
I was following a bike in traffic yesterday, he had one of the brake light pulsators installed on his bike. I have never paid much attention to pulsators, but this one certainly got my attention. Every time he stopped, the brake light would pulsate for about 5 seconds before reverting to full on. I think it's a good idea which will reduce the risk of getting hit from behind. The unit is a small black sealed box that can be installed easily. I found one in a JC Whitney catalog for $25.99, I'm going to go for it.

I have run an LED tail light bulb for several years.under normal riding conditions the LEDS rotate in a circular direction in sequence then rotate in the opposite direction continuosly til the brakes are applied at which time all the LEDs flash as long as brakes are applied. It's a standard 1157 taillight bulb. This bulb in combination with the headlight & light bar modulator I think makes me more noticeable .

I hope they are 1939 "Style" lights. LED's didn't exist before the 1970's.superglide03 wrote:I have 1939 Ford LED tail lights mounted in my saddle bags. Light Modulators
I installed a brake modulator and a headlight modulator 3 years ago and since that time, I have never been cutoff by another vehicle. Most people ask me if there's something wrong with my headlight...at least they see me from a long ways away.

I have a headlight modulator and hyper lights at the rear. The funny thing is, the modulator, which I have been stopped for 3 times, is legal. I show the police the reg. (DOT) and there hasn't been a problem
I have never been stopped for the hyper lights. However, the MV inspector would not pass me with "flashing red lights" in the rear of the bike. I pulled them off (Left them wired) and hid them behind the license plate (right in front of the inspector). He then passed it. When I got home, I reattached them and was back in business. This year, I just covered them with black tape, passed inspection, then removed the tape in the MV insp. station parking lot and went on my merry way.
I am going to add a switch to the circuit so I can turn them off for inspection.
I don't know about Ohio laws, but the pulsating tail light may be an issue with MV.
