Faring/windscreen suggestions for an old bike

Hey there. I've got a '74 cb360 running great and I'm really enjoying it. However, the wind really bugs me above 40mph.

*What's the difference if any, between a fairing and a windscreen?

*Do you have any recommendations for one that would fit my bike. It need not be OEM

My wants would be that it be somewhat low profile - I don't think they look all that great (I know, I know, I'm riding an old 360 already), but I'm willing to trade some style for functionality.

How about something like this?

J.C. Whitney sells them, and a couple other designs that might work.

Most Americans refer to windscreens as the smaller shields, usually Lexan or acrylic, without the extra bodywork of a fairing. Windscreens come in a wide variety of sizes that would fit your bike, from what's known as a flyscreen (extra small) to a full touring shield (extra large). National Cycle's website might be a good place to start looking.

Head to a local cycle shop and ask to see what they have available in universal windshields. I suggest that you get one the approximate height so you can look over it when riding rather than through it. You'll learn why when it rains.

I use the Maier universal gpz-style faring. It's smoke tinted, and very well built. It's more angular than the one matt pictured, so you'll decide if you like it. my avatar shows it, and there's a thread in product reviews as well.

Cafe racer style fairings look great on 70's bikes. I haven't put one on mine yet, but will soon, so can't comment on wind protection yet. But, from what I've read on the internet, they do offer some wind protection, but not as well as a windshield.

I also wrote a thread updating the info for wind protection after final adjustments were made. Check the product reviews forum for Maier universal faring for 7 inch headlight, and update on wind protection.

National Cycle also has alot of universal fit windsheilds. I got a flyscreen from them and I was very happy with the quality. You can see mine here;
