Input on Gloves

#1 Unread post by WARainMan »

One week until my MSF class. As summer ends and the cool, rainy fall of Seattle begins, I am trying to decide on a pair of gloves. I'd like a nice balance between the light, thin summer gloves (too cold) and a thick, warm Thinsulate-type glove (too bulky?). I want to have adequate movement and dexterity to feel the clutch and brake well. while keeping the hands dry and the blood flowing.

What gloves would any recommend?

Grazie.

I don't buy leather from any place but fox Creek leather. I have three pair of their gloves and just got the third pair last week. These are gauntlets which are quite long and wide enough to go over any jacket cuffs. There made of deerskin..very soft and more durable than cowhide. I also have the same gloves with Thinsulate lining for cold weather. They are not overly bulky but certainly more so than unlined ones. You might want to think about a pair of unlined gloves and a pair of silk glove liners to use when it is cold. Call Fox creek & talk to them about it; they are good people and all shipping is free.

You won't be disappointed. The nice thing about deerskin or elk is when they get wet they dry nice & soft unlike cowhide.

I love my Deersports. They dry out just fine, I'm looking at the winter ones with the phase change insulation.
