Newbie Here

While I hate the term "Newbie", I guess I qualify as that here on this forum. I have been riding since 1965 with a short hiatus in the middle...lol.
I currently own a 2002 Triumph Thunderbird, a 2002 Yamaha Road Star 1600 and am in the process of selling off my 1984 Yamaha Virago 1000.
I just love riding and commute most days, about 65 miles round trip on one of my bikes. My boss calls me his "Hippy HR Guy" but that does not bother me at all. I find riding to be one of my best "therapies" along with cooking, photography and poetry.
In the past, I have owned several Hondas, a couple of Yamahas, a Bultaco, and a BSA, so I guess that gives it away that I am an old fart, but loving every minute of my life....when the 30-year-olds can keep up with me, then I will start to think about feeling old...lol.

I just found this site, and, in the past couple of days have spent quite a bit of time looking, reading, etc. It seems like a great bunch of folks here, unlike many forums that seem to have kind of their own agenda.
Just thought I would introduce myself. I am heading out of town on business for the next week, but should be back in touch late next week.
Until then, please...all of you....ride safely, but RIDE RIDE RIDE. :D

Welcome aboard! We get along well together most of the time around here. By far, though, it is the best website on the topic of all things motorcycle. Enjoy the forums, and be safe while you're giving the young'uns a run for their money!

Cheers,
Loonette

Welcome aboard. You can count me in with you. I didn't start riding until 1969 but owned three Bultacos and a BSA. I stopped riding in about 1980 and just started again early this year.

Well, I am back....Had a great time in the mountains of Tenn. last weekend, but this weekend meant that I got to bring my "new" Triumph home, finally.
Everyone told me that it would attract attention, but even knowing that, I have been surprised at the immediate responses I have received when someone sees it. Even a neighbor went out of his way to say, "Hey! Is that a Triumph?" as a fellow neighbor and I were just standing around chatting. It seems that everyone has, at some time, either owned, or wanted to own, a Triumph. I am already having a ball and have only had it home for a day...lol.
Anyway, I was told that I had to post photos, so here goes my attempt...one group shot of the whole "family" and one of my new gal, a 2002 Triumph Thunderbird. The red Virago will be going to its new home later today.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Bob
