Ok I believe it was last week or the week before (Hey im getting older lol) I did the general Maintenance (16k) except for the valve adjustments (dont have the right tools). Well I dont know if this was happening before the maintenance or after but I have one exhaust thats pushing out harder than the other exhaust. Could I have put the incorrect clearance on the spark plug causing the one piston to not "push" as hard as the other? The bike runs fine other than it pops every second and a half when I downshift and use the motor to slow me down (unless I keep the clutch pulled in).

Definately check the valve clearance as soon as you can, but...

Your plug gap won't affect much as long as it's gapped to some kind of gap that will allow spark to happen. The popping is new? Many bikes are jetted just lean enough to do that on decel from stock.

The difference between exhaust pulses on the cylinders is normal if your feeling these pulses under no load. Unless your riding the bike while checking this, your motor is unloaded and it's normal for one cylinder to carry more or less load until the engine is pulling.

Another reason for the "POP" is that there may be cool air getting into the exhaust system somewhere giving the exhaust the ability to burn up the last of it's unburnt fuel. Look for loose connections and cracked and/or flattened and leaking gaskets.

yeah I was checking the exhaust will sitting there warming up lol. Ill check the exhaust etc for possible leaks. never thought of that .
