A question i came upon while drinking water

I came home threw off my jacket and grabed a bottle of water to drink, and started chugging and then before i knew it some went down the air way lol , yeah i was coughing for a while
,, but wat happens to the water that makes it to your lungs or does it ever make it there ??? How does this work?

Yes it does. The term is called aspiration.

Yeah, it happens. Small amounts of fluids will just absorbed right into the body.

yeah, you get a whole bunch in there, you'll drown
