Let's get personal for a moment because I wanna peek in your saddlebags.
What do you carry in them on a regular basis?

I've got a backpack that lives strapped to my rear seat. Right now it's got a hat, some earplugs, a pen and a bunch of technical papers from work.

Hmm, I dont seem to recall my bike having any saddlebags on it.
The bikes toolkit, a set of metric allen wrenches, a tire pressure gauge, a pen (amazing how handy keeping a pen on your bike can be LOL), and shop rag live in the little compartment under the seat

I don't have any saddle bags, but my Majesty scooter has a big locking storage area under the seat. Right now it holds
A small tool kit.
A packate of "Rain X" wipes
tire pressure gage
cargo net
a pair of heavy winter gauntlets
a snowmobile suit (it's starting to get cood at night some here)
my full faced Bell Helmet
Another pair of gloves (Inside my helmet actually)
In the glove box, there is
My rain suit
flashlight (AA mini-mag)
sunglasses
A couple of pens
Another pair of gloves. (Hey, you have to have gloves in a glove box.)
In the small glove box, there isn't much. Just
a tire repair kit.

Broken piece of Ply wood for keeping the kickstand from sinking into stupid poorly laid black top parking lots.
light weight gloves
sun glasses (I think thats where they are...they wander)
garbage from my Timmies lunch on my last ride.
Air.
little allen wrench tool for taking my windshield off (dealer put it there, and there it stays)
Multi tool.
Things that go in and get taken out when not riding - Shoes and rain suit.

I keep my bike registration and insurance papers velcro'd to the side of saddle bag inside a piece of plastic sleeve

. then I also keep a rag because when I get out of work or have to go to another plant (Remember I work 3rd shift) the seat is usually covered in condensation so I wipe it dry before even sitting on the bike

No saddlebags, but in my underseat storage I have:
- Little screwdriver and allen wrench that came with the bike
- Registration and owners manual in a plastic ziplock bag
- gloves
- crappy digital tire pressure gauge
- cheap bike lock that is too short to lock to anything signifigant
- pen and a pad of paper to track gas mileage
- Some bungee cords and zip ties
- rain suit
- clear visor and reflective safety vest for night riding

I only put the saddle bags on for long-distance travel. I usually take either my small backpack/purse thingy on my sissy bar/rear rack or a small tank bag. It will typically contain the following:
tools - screwdriver, allen wrenches, tire gauge
owner's manual
note book with pen
sunglasses
house keys
sidestand parking plate
jacket liner
two bandannas + shop rag
drinking water
juice box
granola bar
kleenex (comes in handy if public head is out of toilet paper)
conventional pain medication, Rescue Remedy, arnica, Neosporin, band-aids
dental floss
lipgloss, SPF stick for tattoos, press powder, tampons
If I'm riding alone, I keep my wallet and cell phone in my jacket - in case I'm ever thrown from my bike and dying somewhere in a ditch, I wouldn't want to be separated from my phone and I.D.
Cheers,
Loonette
