my first little project on my bike

So I bought a lowering kit for my Vstar 1100 and thought I'd ask around to see how much it'd be to get that installed so the average price was 150 bucks. That just seemed like a lotta money for something that didn't seem that hard to do so I decided to borrow my friends lift and give it a try. It was extremelly easy. It probably took me about an hour cause it took me a while to realize that you have to mess with the lift so that you can bring the bike up and down depending on how low or high you need to go with the lowering links, but I finally got it done.
I recomend you do it by yourself if you're planning on getting this done.
I tell you though, I'm glad I did it myself cause I can't really tell if my bike is lower on the back. I went down 2 inches and thought I'd see or feel a big difference but I don't, so I'd be pissed if I would have paid 150 to get this done.
Just thought I'd share that with you guys.

What sort of diffference were you expecting to feel?

Make sure to double check all the bolts you just reinstalled, having one come loose could be catastrophic.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I keep checking them everytime I ride it. They should be fine.
Well, first of all, I thought I'd be able to see a difference since it's 2 inches dropped down on the back and I thought when I'd sit on it I'd feel lower.

Make sure you locktite everything down. Did you use a torque wrench with torque specs?

Good for you for wrenching your own ride!

Yeah, everything is really tight. I have good tools.

If you stick locktite on somethign that doesn't call for it the torque specs chance.

And "really tight" isn't always right. You might wanna get the torque wrench out to be safe. Suspension isn't something to "fudge" around with.

Too tight can be just as bad as not tight enough.

Yes, I got it right at 35 foot-pounds.
It should be ok. THat's what the instructions say.
