hello...i am new here.....i am starting riding lessons in October and hope to get my own bike asap after that.
was wondering if i could get some pointers on what to buy(used)
I am 60. 5'3 with 27 inseam
right now i ride with my boyfriend and thats how i got hooked...lol

Welcome aboard! Our "New Riders" forum has a whole list of good beginner bikes. Also, the "Ladies' Lounge" forum has some good tips. Good luck, and enjoy the forums.

he has a suzuki v-strom (2005)...i love to ride with him but i could never ride it,,,,legs way too short...lol

thanks ..now i am wondering if i should maybe get a bike before i take MST ....sort of in a chicken and egg thing going on in my mind. I i take MST as planned in October , it will prob be next summer that i can get a bike...will i have forgottten what i learn by then?? Would i be better off getting bike first then MST so that way i can carry on with no break>>??

That is a matter of personal choice. Myself, I had a fourteen year sabatical between bikes without any hickups on what to do. It is really like riding a bicycle. However saying that. You must do what you're going to be comfortable doing.

Just slide on down the coast a wee bit and ride all winter.
There are very few days in the Vancouver area, that you can't ride. Just dress properly for the rain and the cold....
