Just got my first ever street bike this week. I've been riding quads for a years but recently decided it was time for a change. I traded my 400EX for a Yamaha Vstar Classic (650) and am here to soak up the tricks & tips.
Get ready for some noob questions.

I'm a week ahead of ya. I did my MSF BRC class last weekend. There is no way in hell I was going to just go out into traffic and "wing it"
Im now actually considering one of the other advnaced MSF courses now. Good idea? or should I give it a little time?

I'd say take some time. I took MSF back in July and got my license in August. I've put about 600 miles on my bike in the past month or so and I'm just starting to think I could benefit from the advanced course. Give it some time until you feel very comfortable with the typical basic stuff you do every day while riding.
Just get out there and ride!

Welcome to the board.
When I took the MSF BRC one of the students asked the instructor about the advanced class and the instrctor recommended waiting untill you have a few thousand miles of experience before taking it.
