What is your comfortable cruising speed.

#1 Unread post by badfish89 »

On the interstate, when your by yourself on a highway. For both you and your bike.

For me, I can go just about 80 sitting just under 4,000 RPMs. And it just cruises. I can just sit my wrist on the throttle, and I cruise right at 80 mph. *Perfect*

So what is it for you, and your bike?

comfort as in not worried about cops?

bec i wasn't uncomfortable when i gun'ed my bike on an empty freeway before and hit 164mph(indicated)

85-90mph(indicated), 5th gear at around 6-8K rpm(bike redlines at 14-16K rpm) is my normal freeway cruising speed.

i rarely hit 100+ anymore so i rarely use 6th gear.

i dont hit 100 very often either. If i hit a empty long stretch... ill open it up. But my bike only goes like 130.

for me, other than risking a hefty ticket... i figured it's a waste of tire wear so i don't do it as much as i used to.

My bike's engine starts roaring a bit above 70, so I'm usually either sticking with traffic in the middle lane or doing 70 on the rare open highway. The backroads are much more fun.

between 55 and 80... depending on the road. Anything above 45mph is comfortable enough for me (enough wind holding me up).
