Haven't seen this here yet. I think it'll be in the States next year as a 2008 model. Based on the ZX14 motor, shaft drive, all the goodies a tourer could want, etc.

They would have done well to call it the ZZR-14 as the name Concours is forever associated with outdated fossilbike.

Yeah but that outdated fossilbike did something very well. It worked for it's intended purpose. I know several people with these and they all ride the heck out of them. Not much in frills or flash but it works. And the price was right.

A lot of people are hoping that Kawasaki will keep the old Connie in the line-up along with the new bike.

Too much money. The Connie was the cheapest bike that did that job well.

Oh yea, its load bearing capabilities were awesome.

It sure doesn't fit me. I've sat on one at the dealer a dozen times, trying to learn to like it. No go. Feels like sitting down in a hole, and have to reach out too far for the grips. Bar risers would be mandatory. The old Connie has one outstanding quality: value for the money. I tried to talk myself into it over and over, but nope.

And what was with that color for 2005? Blecchhhh!! I've seen 1950's Steelcase file cabinets that looked better! The 2006 is a nicer color...

Yeah, I've changed my mind since the earlier post. I like the color better, and it looks like they adjusted the ergos from the ZX14 to a more human configuration.

The Connie used to be one of the cheapest touring bikes you could get, almost completed, but we have to move up and on sometimes. I'm thinking you'll be getting a review of this bike as soon as I can sit on one, confirm the fit, and finace it.

theres a good reason it's NOT dubbed the ZZR-1400... We already have it, it's called the ZX-14 in the states. Europe gets it under the GTR1400 name i believe (the concours).

The old Concours was a great value, and before I bought my ST1300 I seriously considered the Concours.

However, I bought the ST1300 instead for several reasons: ABS, ABS, ABS, features, and styling. I was willing to pay much more for the ST1300 to get a better, safer, and more modern bike.

My '03 ST1300 with ABS was $14,500, and an '07 ST1300 ABS is $15,100. The Concours 14 with ABS will probably cost no more, if not be cheaper, than the ST1300.

You can't compare the new Concours to the old 15 year+ old Concours. You need to compare the new Concours to the current competition. It should be at least as good as or better than it's competition.
