So i just purchased a 1986 Yamaha FZ600 that im gonna be using as a project bike (runs good just needs new plastic). So yesterday i was riding it around and i pulled into my driveway to let a buddy take it for a spin. He hopped on it and i noticed fuel leaking from the bottom of the bike. So after inspecting it i noticed there are 2 lines down at the rear of the motor, 1 is the one that is leaking fuel that looks like its coming from the tank, and the other looks as if it goes into the motor. I thought at first that the 2 lines were clamped together somehow to make 1 line, but i am now thinking twice about that accusation. Does anyone have any idea where these are suppose to go? I have looked for a place to where the line with the fuel coming out could go, to no avail, same luck with the other line. Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Also a side note. Im dont know much about the mechanics of bikes, so if anyone has a solution, it would be appreciated if you could give detailed instructions(pictures would help if you got them) on how to fix this little problem.
86' FZ600 fuel line problem.

Hmm...
Is the second line, perhaps the reserve? I can't imagine them being clamped together, unless there was an inline fuel filter - or the previous owner cut and joined the line for who-knows-what reason. If you can start the bike, then they should be independent of each other.
If you have a reserve (likely on an '86) see how it is functioning. It should be on the left side of the bike near where your knee is while riding - generally close to the tank. It is just a small two or three position lever.
If you have a hose hanging down to the bottom of the bike, it is likely the radiator overflow hose. I am not very familiar with fuel systems, so just guessing here.
Good luck.

Don't think of it as a stop light. Think of it as a chance-to-show-off light.

No problem.
Love the bikes from the '80s, hate being a mechanic
I hope Suzis are as easy to work on as Kawas. You might look on ebay for a Clymer guide for your bike. They are good repair manuals. A lot better than those Chilton's/Haynes' guides for cars.
