On alot of these new custom choppers, Im seeing this tape ,usually black, wrapped around the exhaust pipes. It almost looks like the stuff cast are made out of. I personally think it looks awesome if its done right. But I was wondering what that stuff is called and where you can find it. Also its just for cosmetic purposes right?

It's heat wrap. It's not really tape, it's more of a fiberglass weave. It's an insulating material. It also comes in a whiter color too. Check autozone, pep boys and the like but I'm sure you can get it online too.

yup..it is neat stuff...I think it is a neat look. I have heard and seen it quite a bit recently. I hear...the best way to apply it is soak it in water first. And pull real tight when putting it on.

i really like how it looks, especially on those bobbers or old school MCs.
If i modify my MC and my pipes get funky- i'd consider it!

look at the exhaust. There are alot better examples out there than that I just didnt have time to find them. The black tape looks really good when there is chrome showing at the end.
