Quit washing your windsheild with me behind you!!!

Just need to vent real quick.

Riding in to work this morning the car in front of me started washing his windshield on the interstate at about 75mph. End result is that I got covered with wiper fluid. My bike, helmet and clothes were covered, and this is with me a good 2-3 seconds behind the car. That fluid does not wipe off as easily as water does when it's raining so after trying to wipe it off and just smearing it worse, I had to life my visor to see. Open visor + 75mph + no glasses= a bad situation. :furious:

This happens to me once and a while and it annoys me to no end. I understand that people sometimes do it without realizing it, but even if it's another car behind me, I'll wait until they are far enough behind or changes lanes before washing my windsheild in my truck. It just seems like common courtesy. :soapbox:

Count me in that group. I've never considered other vehicles behind me when washing my windshield. If you get wet, either you're too close or the car builder didn't make my fluid nozzles right. Not my problem

The washer button is a great way to tell the jerk in the shiny, freshly-waxed car tailgating you on the highway to back off

Agreed. I've done that many times before.

But it's a little different when they're a good distance behind you and especially when you know it's a motorcycle. Even a well adjusted spray will get the person behind you wet even if they aren't tailgaiting.

Yeah, it pisses me off too, even when I'm in my car. I'll just never understand how people can be so incredibly selfishly ignorant of the world around them to enable that kind of behavior.

Its just part of motorcycling to me.

Any time I jump on a bike, I know that I'm more exposed to the elements
(the most fundemental of which is stupidity)

Rant, grumble, do what ya gotta do... Just don't expect people to change their ways

I guess what I'm trying to say is "Suck it up"

Yeah, not much other option than to suck it up. I expect it to happen once and a while and realize that the person in the car doesn't even realize they do it.

Just felt the need to vent after riding through it.

For safety sake I can stand a little splatter if it means the guy in front of me can now see out of his windshield.

I'm not nearly vindictive enough for that. If I'm going to go through the trouple of packing something extra it'll be a damp rag to wipe my visor off so I can see again.
