I'd guess about $1,500 to $2,000 a year.

I give it it less than 1 hour before you are flamed for wanting a busa for a first bike. As for the insurance question, alot of it depends on where you live but why dont you just call for a quote?

I think the only way to really tell is to do some insurance quote hunting, online and through phone.

I recently just got my insurance through progressive direct. Its like $240 for comprehensive coverage... im 23, first time being quoted by progressive ever, keep the bike garaged. If I could think up of a tip when shopping for insurance, I guess it would be to ask quotes for different deductible values. Having to pay more of a deductible when something happens can save you money, or could end up costing more in the long run.

Are you financing the bike? If you are you will need full coverage which will cost more.

Its already going to be pretty expensive since that is a big bike and you are under 25.

I got a quick online quote from progressive. I'm 25 I just got my license in july and have a clean driving record. For a 2005 Hayabusa with full coverage the quote was over $7000 a year.

Just liability was 700-900 a year depending on what level of coverage.

Call an insurance company and ask. How are we supposed to know what your insurance rates will be?

A quick quote from Progressive for an 18 year old in my area on a Hayabusa, with full coverage and a $1000 deductible is $3500/year.

For a variety of reasons, do not get a Hayabusa as your first bike. Get something much, much smaller.

The problem is that rates vary so widely between individual, company, bike age/size/type/modifications, zip code, age, driving record, certifications, discount availability, other policies, employment, credit rating, and gender (I love politically correct sex discrimination)...your rate could be anywhere from $5 a month to $500 a month.
