Is the AMA membership worth it?

I got an AMA advertisment in the mail, and basic membership is like $40 for the year. Is it a good organization to join? Is it just a window decal and a magazine...or are there actually some good benefits like they say in the brochure??

If you live in the USA (this is a Canadian-run forum), it is good to support the AMA. The AMA consistently advocates for rider rights, and carries weight with state and federal governments. There's a good magazine that comes with membership, too.

(My comment above makes me wonder, is there a Canadian equivalent to the AMA?)

Yes, its a good deal.

Right now the AMA is working on getting penalties increased for injuring or killing a rider with a car. There are many many other issues that the AMA will go to bat for you on.

There was a town in VT that tried to outlaw motorcycles on the streets in town. The AMA got that changed.

That International Help N Hands thing sounds like one of the best benefits on there, along with insurance break and discount at bike bandit. Any AMA members on here actually apart of that or what?
