lowering a Shadow Spirit (need input)

I have a 01' Shodow Spirit 750, I wanna lower the rear to hug the back tire. I have removed all the rear tailights and garbage. My question is this. Do I have to buy shorter shocks, or can I just get this lowering kit from Scootworx?
