:hithere: Should I get a new bike or used? What do you guys think about Kawasaki 650r? My friends suggested that I should get Gxsr750.

I prefer used especially for a first bike as you are likely to drop it. Dropping your brand new bike is going to hurt the ego

I'd stick to the 650R, it is more beginner friendly than the GSXR750 (more of a RR bike if you ask me).

the gixxer 750 K6 is awesome!!!

but yeah... i wouldn't recommend it as a 1st bike.

you could buy racing clip ons for the 650R and maybe some aftermarket rearset to turn the riding position from standard to sport.

but since your dream bike is an R1. i wouldn't recommend spending a lot of money on a starter bike.

i suggest you buy a cheap used bike then buy the R1 after several months, a year or whatever time it takes for you to be comfortable upgrading. you might also wanna consdier to get an R6 before the R1 if you wanna follow a more contemporary upgrading pattern.

good luck! :D
