Hello,

I went to europe for a month and just got home yesterday and today beeing a nice day I decided to take the bike for another maybe last ride for the year.

IT WONT START Sad

When I try to start the starter cranks and sometimes it starts and chokes and others all I hear is ticking sounds and other times it does nothing.

I did the fuel draining from the carborator and also the spark plug test to see if it fired and everything seemed fine for me..... But what do I know.

Could the battery be dead?
I just had a voltmeter and the battery on dc set read 11.81 V???

Do I need a new battery or just a trickler ???

If you have any ideas I dont know what to do ... if no one has any ideas I guess ill have to figure a way to get my bike from my house to the shop (hahahaha i dont have a clue how that would happen).

please help. Thnaks

yes by the sounds of it you def need to have the bat recharged...try boosting it with booster cables and a car... that'll confirm if its the bat or not.

If i boost it from my car wont it fry my circuit on my bike..... arent they different amps / voltages from a car to the motocycle?????

Currently charging the battery in my basement.... 12 V 1A charger trickle.... for 10 hours

it won't mess up ur bike, just don't leave the cables on for longer than you need to.

The trickle charger is still a better way to do it, though.

then use a multimeter, check the voltage w/ no load, w/ the key in the "on" position, and when its cranking (or attempting to)

check the fluid level in the batt too
