I am still waiting to take the MSF or any training course... Just in line till my turn comes...


I would ride my bike before go to MSF ( if possible) I think one would appreciate when all questions are answerd.

if i were to take the MSF with out riding a bike at all I would still get what they are saing but wouldnt know how much of a deepth/importance those info has.

if I ride the bike myself first.. I will be like "oh ya.. I know what you mean..." or " really... so thats how your mirrors should be.. I was never able to get them to see what i want to see..."

I think even if I catch bad habbits while riding myself.. I can make good lesson out if it..


but then again.. thats just me..

I can't take my msf until next month. But I have beenriding anyway. Hubby takes me out and he rides his bike and i ride mine. He tells me the way to put my foot down when stopping (left instead of right to keep foot on brake) and stuff like that if you have anyone around that could ride with you that has taken the course and remembers some of the stuff then why not. Just don't push yourself and make sure you don't go out to busy streets.

Today is another parking lot lesson for me to practice my figure 8's and he said some braking so we will see how it goes. But Iwould recommend taking someone with you who can point out what you are doing wrong.

I know... exactly what you saying.. see... the thing like keeping your left foot i didnt know.. LOL

unfortunatly I dont have some one that rides bikes closer to me.. lol.. I am a lonley biker..

my friends are bit further... where I cant yet ride to... Main( mean) streets..

when i took the MSF... i didn't learn anything new, partly from riding on my own and spending time here at the forums.

besides... i don't follow everything the MSF teaches.

if i have to pick a guide that i try follow... it would be the book "Sport Riding Techniques" by Nick Ienatsch. i suggest you buy it.

hey crimson... I am getting really close to that Canyon ride that we talked about...

I just got home from a ride...

Came home from work.. went for a good 1 hour ride... found some OK roads around the house.. lol

one was realy curvy and mountanous terrain. realy fun except there was stop signs like every 2 mins. BUt nevertheless I had fun.



First day I rode the bike It was very very very exiciting.. though not so fun...


Second day.. ( yesterday ) It was fun nor exciting... my hands were sore, just didnt feel right.. may be because it was the first time on the street with cars.


third day( today) It was fun and exciting. my hands are getting better... though had to keep reminding myself to keep my hands loose and lean for ward a bit and use the knees/legs to hold the bike.

As of today I am extreamly causious and carefull. I hope I stay the same for the rest of my motorcycle career.

By the way ""I did what you told about the left foot.. Its actualy works perty well... except little hard when I stop at intersections and make a right turn its hard to lean the bike while right foot is up... I was usign both in that case..

If you wanna go on the Malibu area, pacific coast highway... I should be ready soon...

also question for you... Is it Legal to ride on highways with a Permit? (Not freeways)

malibu is fine.

im not sure about permit highways.

but anyway... we don't have to ride PCH or do you have to use PCH to get to malibu? im not that familiar w/ that area.

let's just ride topanga canyon, stunt road, and mulholland or all of them if you want. i don't feel like going back to latigo though.
