Well...I was less than a minute from home, went around the last left turn on a rural street. An older woman was coming towards me, taking her turn wide and was on my side of the road. I slowed down as much as I could, hit the dirt on the side of the road and slid into the ditch on the side of the bike.

Damage:
smashed the headlight
scraped the front fender
bent the metal around the headlight
bent turn signal brackets

I was wondering if the headlight is a universal bulb or a yamaha part.
I dont have the front of the bulb, its in pieces in the ditch...so I cant read the product number off it.
Where can I find one, its the only part I cant fix my self.

I could not locate the correct part on bikebandit, but to be honest I did not spend a long time looking. Go to www.bikebandit.com and try their "live help" option. They'll have someone search for you to find the correct part. I found out what chain and sprockets I need for my bike that way.

There is no 1984 XS400 on their site, but there is an '83. The headlight bulb is $40, is it a Yamaha part is what I'm wondering though. Can I just go pick it up at canadian tire or do I have to go to a dealer?
