Would you believe it?? Well, I guess you would because it's just getting ut of hand.
A school somewhere in the US of A has banned the game of "tag".
The reason??
Inappropriate touching

and pushing

and rough housing.
When will they ban walking around the schoolyard in the snow?? Someone is bound to slip and fall, yet.
But don't worry, all you guys and gals in Texas, it will never happen there.

There aren't words in the English language to describe my feelings concerning what is happening to our society. What is wrong with a group of people who ban childhood games because one child might touch another, or because someone might fall down? We are a nation obsessed with sex and sexuality, a nation of wusses afraid of a bumped knee. Maybe we could tell the nervous nellies afraid of life to go home, hide under their beds, and let our children learn to live.

We have to really watch the 8th graders because they can turn ANY game into a sexual or violent act when playing with naive 6th graders.

Every school child will eventually have his/her own room, never to be seen or touched by anyone else, isolate and educate. There will then be a whole generation of socially inept, morally supressed, sexually regressed teens/adults, trying to figure out world issues and problems with no skills or personal experiences to base their opinions on.

And that's a pot shot for what reason exactly?

Because it never snows.
Yes, schools are just going insane. They now have sexual harassment rules in elementary schools. 6 year olds being told they sexually harassed another student because they slapped them on the butt or something. Boys who barely know the difference between boys and girls are assumed to be sexual predators.
Men aren't supposed to be all guilty-until-proven-otherwise until they reach puberty at least.
One of the reasons they banned tag is because it promotes bullying, or something like that. America always has some issue with one thing or another and goes beyond reason in it. There was some huge issue with bullying on the bus, now we have counselors to console the bullied, banning games that might hint of bullying, etc. Its stupid...how are kids going to learn how to take care of themselves if they're coddled every step of the way? Answer: they aren't. Wonder why our military is not getting any new recruits? Here's why! Its just going to get worse.
I really don't know how corporate America is going to survive when it gets a generation full of wussy workers that file lawsuits and cry or quit because someone stole their lunch out of the office fridge or yelled at them or, heaven forbid, someone they didn't like asked them out on a date.
You know what job will be thriving in 20 years? Crime, muggings. You won't have to even carry a weapon. Just walk up to people and threaten to punch them if they don't give you their money. The threat alone will make them cave. Most people will probably just assume you have a weapon and could hurt them, and will just give you their money no questions asked.

Still, bullying is a problem. Kids who are constantly being bullied don't want to go to school, therefore their grades suffer, as well as their pshycological health. There should be measures to prevent bullying (at least with young kids), but banning tag is ridiculous.
