Ok so I put my bike up for the winter yesterday. Then I went to wally world to get a copy of my key made (only had 1 key). In the amount of time from when I was finished with my bike until I got to wally world I lost my 1 and only key jfakldjfkal;sdjfkasdl;jfkl;sdjasf;dfjas;.

anyways I called up my local stealer and they said I jsut need to bring the ignition switch in so they can get the number off of it. I have torn 1/2 of this bike apart trying to remove this dam switch. It has 2 rings on the backside that are not allen heads so I cant figure out how to remove those and on the front are some round bolts that are not normal bolts or allen heads so I dont know how to remove those. Any ideas from anyone? the ignition switch is on the side (I am assuming by ignition switch they mean the part you put your key in). I found a series of numbers/letters on the inside front cover of the switch which was very easy to remove that is that-xx but I dont know if that is the number they need or not.

Those strange looking bolts you saw are broken bolts. They are designed to snap the head off once tightened so the ignition switch cannot be easily removed  . They need to be drilled out to remove the switch.
The code they need should be on black electrical tape. Offhand I can't remember how many numbers it should be. Maybe a letter and four numbers?

hmm there was no tape anywhere on the thing with numbers. I forgot about this thread. I found my key when blowing the leaves. I figured it had fallen out of my pocket just outside of my garage but the leaves covered it up. so when I started blowing my leaves I found the key. Now to find the time to go get a copy made. Normally I leave the key on my key normal key chain except when riding. I dont need a big thing of keys flapping in the wind riding down the road  . I took the key off and hung it up on the key board in my house so I dont lose it again lol.

The numbers you saw are the right numbers. I know I make motorcycle keys.

there is a book that tell you the actual code from a list by matching the number you get off the ing. switch. Then you put the code into the machine. A little complicated lol
