Ninja 250 !! Really !! You can do Wheelies ?

I know I am going to get bombarded with criticisms but I am willing to take it. Go head and criticize

So I am going to ask the question, runaway and hide. :sofa: I am sure people have asked the same question in other posts at TMC.

How do I do a wheelie on a ninja 250? And how hard is it to get the wheel up and keep it up?

Are there any possibilities of flipping over? If so… how hard or easy it is to flip the bike trying to do a wheelie.

I KNOW SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO MAKE FUN OF ME, AND HATES ME, BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY WITHIN THE MAIN TOPIC, I AM BEGGIN YOU !

I see that your sig says you have 99 miles and 3 mishaps already. Why don't you focus just riding your bike and not being a squid trying to do a wheelie...

In the other thread you asked what made me think you were 17 (or younger). Here you go. This is it.

As for the topic, yes, you can wheelie the ninja 250. You will probably drop it... just keep that in mind. Destroying a bike is never good for resale value (or repair costs). It is very possible to flip over, backwards, sideways, forwards, etc. If you come down crooked, you will probably highside and land on your head.

Other things to keep in mind: If you do manage to perform a wheelie and hold it up for a while, you are starving your cylinder heads of oil. These leads to overheated valves, pistons, cams, etc. Also, your cylinders aren't getting any airflow when they are pointed upwards.

A good sign that a bike has been wheelied/abused by its owner is poor fuel mileage. I've seen quite a few bikes with fried rocker arms and camshafts because numskulls wheelie their bikes and then sell them to poor saps after they f*ck the bike up.

mm! Fried cams and rocker arms...tasty! It cost that guy $2500 bucks to get the engine fixed in the bike that those came from.

EDIT: BTW, that bike was a year old with under 1000 miles on it when he bought it.

Dirtytoes claims to wheelie his bike a lot. He might have some advice for you.

Every once in a while I think it'd be cool to be able to wheelie, then I think back to all the crash vids, and how much I would cry if I saw my bike cartwheeling down the road in pieces. I personally don't think it's worth it.

There are enough things that can go wrong with both wheels on the ground, why tempt fate by halving that number??

I do see your point. But, what does the road safety has to do with wheelies, if I am not performing wheelies on public streets?

Of course it is dangerous, so is riding a bike. If I want to be totally safer then I would be driving a car, better yet take public transportation.

Trying to do wheelies doesn't mean I am not a safe rider. One could be an unsafe rider even if he/she has never done a stunt in their life..

As for you "DivideOverflow" I give up man... how could it make me look 17 simply because I asked how to do a wheelie?

Honestly to me Stunts and riding on the road are two complete different things. I am not planning to do wheelies on public roads or Jeopardize other's safety.

Also I did hurt doing Stoppies is realy realy bad for the bike. ( suspensions etc)

Thanks for all your help/advice

Lean back and pin the throttle at your peak torque. You should get a little front wheel pop. Go from there.

No you're right, trying to do wheelies doesn't mean your an unsafe driver. Trying to do wheelies when you've only been riding for 99 miles makes you a SQUID though. Doing a wheelie involves good throttle control. Having ridden only a few miles, I'd wager to say that you probably need some practice in that department.

I'm not trying to come off as an arse, but really why don't you just enjoy riding your bike. No need to try to be one of those guys in the stunt videos...

OK OK.. I get the point. I'll try to be a good boy for another 200 miles :D

I wish I was like "one of those guys in the stunt videos" they are proffesional riders. ( the ones that lives at least  )
