DH and I are taking a 5 hour road trip for the first timethis weekend to the mountains for our 12th anniversary. It's in the 60's here at home, but will be in 40's in the mountains when we get there. What suggestions do you have on how to stay comfortable and warm throughout the ride? Especially without breaking the bank on expensive gear? Thanks!!!

Easiest way without spending a buck is to just bundle up. Wear sweats under your pants, an extra sweater under your jacket, a turtle-neck if you have one. 2 pairs of socks. Worst thing is your hands...best to invest in winter riding gloves.
Be careful. You can get hypothermia very easily. Drink warm fluids at your pit stops.

Booties over your boots also helps to keep your feet warm. You can get them for about $20. a pair CDN. I bought a pair at my local HD M/C shop. They were great for my trip in keeping me dry and a bit warmer.
