BMW Group Canada sets October and year-to-date sales records

BMW sales up 12% in October

WHITBY, ON, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI brands
combined) reported its strongest October sales, retailing 2,050 vehicles.
Sales in October 2006 increased 8.6 per cent compared to October 2005. BMW
Group Canada also achieved pinnacle year-to-date sales of 19,676 vehicles, up
9.2 per cent over the same period last year.
BMW Motorrad Canada reported a year-to-date sales of 1,142 units, a 6.73
per cent gain compared to the same period last year. BMW Motorrad sold 51
units in October, down 15 per cent.

BMW brand:

BMW Canada set a record for October sales by retailing 1,765 vehicles, up
12.1 per cent from October 2005. Year-to-date, sales of BMW vehicles are up
11.8 per cent in Canada with 16,828 units sold.
The BMW 3 Series line-up, including the 3 Series Sedan, voted 2006 Best
New Sports Sedan by Automobile Journalist Association of Canada's (AJAC) and
2006 World Car of the Year, led BMW's strong sales momentum once again this
month. The new 3 Series Coupé has proven to be very successful with consumers.
Sales of the 3 Series Coupé increased 119.4 per cent in October, which
translates to 136 units sold. Overall, the 3 Series line-up saw an increase
53.5 per cent to 1,136 units in October and a 23.9 per cent gain, or 9,081
units, year-to-date.
"October was a good month for BMW Group Canada as we successfully
transitioned to the 2007 model year across the product line," said Lindsay
Duffield, President and CEO, BMW Group Canada. "3 Series sales were up over
50% versus last October, and with all new engines in the 2007 model line-up,
we expect this momentum to continue. Our very successful October National
Certified Series Sales Event greatly contributed to setting a pre-owned
monthly sales record. And on the MINI front, the new MINI Soho and Rallye
special editions, both with considerable added value including no-charge
scheduled maintenance, have been very well received by customers across
Canada."

MINI brand:

Year-to-date, MINI has sold 2,848 units in Canada, a slight decrease of
4.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. In October, MINI Canada
reported monthly sales of 285 units, down 9.2 per cent.
