I'm playing it on Sunday. I've played about a dozen times, but not for about 5 years.
Anyone else play?
What the best gun to have these days? I'm thinking of getting back into it and buying all my own gear.

I used to play on the tournament level but I've been out of the game for around 3-4 years. Its fun but incredibly expensive....
as far as markers? I'm still partial to Autocockers and pump guns...but both are long outdated

Last I heard angels were the best, but I never played much, I just heard that from friends.

Yup I paintball but haven't done much this year as this is the year I got hooked on motorcycles. I still have two markers, an AKA Viking and a Dye Matrix 3.
I think the new hot markers are the SP Shocker and the Eclipse Ego were the biggest baddest. Angel had just released a new version but that was when I kind of fell off the scene.

Autocockers still rock
If you're actually going to get into it and get your own gun, it's hard to beat a Smart Parts Ion with an air (not CO2) tank. If you want something a little more basic, an electronic-sear Spyder is a good bet.. but still get air (sometimes erroneously called nitro or nitrogen) tank with it. Much more consistent shooting than CO2.

Give me a 'cocker with a 68/4500 tank and a nice slide trigger and I'll go to town
Or a Sniper II, Sterling, or Phantom

Tippmann 98 custom. Cheap, durable, popular, upgradeable, easy to work on.
